Trash on
our beaches and in our waterways isn’t just unsightly – it’s also potentially
dangerous to marine life and in some cases harmful to water quality. Trash doesn’t fall from the sky, it falls
from human hands. And human hands have the power to stop it.
As
the Philippine Constitution, enacted the Republic Act 911 or the Garbage
Disposal Policy together with the reinforced power of some agencies such as
DENR - CENRO, BFAR, DA, and DOH, such rules and regulations were then imposed
for a strong and effective policy. Prior to this, various situations are then
bombarded in our environment due to the immoral and unethical activities of the
people, such as improper garbage disposal. On the other hand, we, the Bio –
Catalysts are just concerned of what our environment is experiencing, thus, we
were then able to conduct a small yet a very successful coastal clean-up last
17th day of March, 2012 at Barangay Bula, General Santos City.
This
blog is made to show that we, first year Bachelor of Secondary Education major in
Biology can help to preserve and protect our nature and to make a history. We
are aiming for a better world where anyone can live safely and everyone can
enjoy the sea. So, for us to do this, we should change, for change stars with ourselves
not from others.
